Genghis Hadi

Co-Founder and Managing Principal

Genghis Hadi has over 22 years of real estate private equity experience in the United States. Most recently he spent 7 years with Carlyle Group and worked on several billion dollars of transaction volume including new acquisitions and asset management of existing transactions with a focus on New York City.

Prior to Carlyle, Mr. Hadi was part of both the Acquisitions and Asset Management team at Boston Capital. He completed his Masters of Science in Real Estate Development at Columbia University, and his undergraduate studies in Economics at Tufts University. Born and raised in Dubai, UAE he has now lived in the US for over 26 years. Formerly he served as an adjunct professor at Columbia University’s Masters of Science in Real Estate Development Program.

Amanda Chan has previously worked in architecture and real estate development across United States, Europe and Asia. Prior to joining Nahla Capital, she was a Project Manger at HAP Investments working on residential developments in New York City. Before that, she was the Business Development Manager at UNStudio, a renowned global architecture office headquartered in Amsterdam, where she led the strategic planning and business development of the company for the Asia Pacific region.

Ms. Chan graduated cum laude from Cornell University with a Bachelor of Science in Applied Economics and Management, and received a Master of Science in Real Estate Development from Columbia University. She is a scholarship recipient of the WX New York Women Executives in Real Estate.

Jitendra Jain (JJ) brings over 25 years of experience in design, development, and construction across the United States, Paris, and London. Prior to joining Nahla Capital, as the Director of Development at Fisher Brothers, Mr. Jain oversaw the development of AREA15, a 200,000 SF ground-breaking experiential art, retail, entertainment, and events complex in Las Vegas while actively seeking new opportunities in markets throughout the US and UK to expand the AREA15 business model. During his tenure at the New York-based development firm Sumaida+Khurana, Mr. Jain led the development of highly crafted residential projects in Manhattan, including 152 Elizabeth Street, a 7-unit boutique, ultra-luxury, condominium project in Nolita designed by Pritzker Prize-winning Japanese architect Tadao Ando and an 80-unit ultra-luxury condominium tower in Midtown West designed by another Pritzker Prize-laureate Portuguese Architect Alvaro Siza. Prior to transitioning from architecture to real estate development, Mr. Jain spent over 15 years working as an Architect in New York, Paris, London, and Mumbai while working for world renowned practices such as Bjarke Ingels Group in New York, Dominique Perrault Architecture in Paris, and Kohn Pedersen Fox in London.

Mr. Jain graduated from Columbia University with a Master of Science in Real Estate Development, preceded by a Master of Architecture from Southern California Institute of Architecture (SCI-Arc), in Los Angeles.

Mike Keltz oversees and manages all aspects of construction activities across U.S. markets as the Director of Construction at Nahla Capital. Based in New York City, Mr. Keltz brings over 25 years of expertise in the construction industry.

Before joining Nahla Capital, Mr. Keltz held senior executive roles at leading New York City real estate developers, including Tarragon Development Corporation, Extell, and Dajia US. He began his career in the building trades and started working in New York City with Bovis Lendlease in 2001.

His experience spans pre-construction through design management and procurement to project completion on new construction projects and all aspects of capital expenditures on existing assets. Throughout his career, he has been responsible for over 4 million square feet of new construction of office, mixed-use, hospitality, residential rental, and residential condominium projects.

Mr. Keltz received a Bachelor of Science from The University of Scranton, a Diploma in Building Construction Management from New York University, and a Master of Business Administration from Seton Hall University.

Nina Chan has 15 years of construction experience in NYC. Prior to joining Nahla Capital, Ms. Chan worked as a project manager at a leading general contractor in New York overseeing luxury residential project at 1228 Madison Avenue, 430 E 14 Street, 221 W 77th Avenue, 2-17 51st Avenue. Her responsibilities included preconstruction, project management, estimating and scheduling.

Ms. Chan has a Bachelor of Business Administration in Finance from Bernard Baruch College.

Tala Jallad has 10 years of transactional experience counseling and representing various participants in the structured finance market including issuers, lenders and borrowers in asset-backed transactions, secured lending facilities and warehouse lines of credit. Ms. Jallad gained her legal experience working in the New York structured finance group of the law firm of Dewey & LeBoeuf LLP and then at Katten Muchin Rosenman LLP when she left with her team to join Katten’s New York office.

Ms. Jallad received her J.D. from New England Law | Boston where she was awarded a CALI excellence for the future award and her B.A. in Classics from Tufts University.

Grace Ng has over 18 years of experience as a CPA and advisor in public accounting prior to joining Nahla Capital. She was previously with Berdon LLP as a principal in its audit department where she provided accounting, auditing, and tax services to clients in an array of business sectors, with specialization in the real estate industry. She advised and worked closely with owners, operators, managers, developers, and investors in commercial and residential real estate projects, including some of the most prominent firms in New York real estate.

Ms. Ng graduated magna cum laude from the State University of New York at Binghamton with a Bachelor of Science in Accounting, and is licensed as a Certified Public Accountant in New York.

Eve Szerlip joins Nahla Capital with 7 years of commercial real estate and investment management experience. Moving to New York City in 2022, Eve served as the co-head of asset management for Aspen Capital’s private equity REIT- Gaea. In this capacity, she managed Net lease and garden-style multi-family assets across the continental United States.

Prior to Aspen Capital, Eve worked for Industrial operator and developer- Calare Properties in Boston. Eve joined the team in 2020 as a financial analyst and served in both acquisition and asset management roles.

Before joining Calare Properties, Eve worked in commercial and luxury residential brokerage at Compass from 2017 to 2020. Under the umbrella of the Caulfield Properties Team, Eve assisted in the sale of small balance multi-family assets and condominium sell outs of high-end new developments in downtown Boston.

Eve graduated from Miami University, with a BS in Finance in 2017.

Gabriel Achi has previously worked in real estate investments and asset management across the United States. Before joining Nahla Capital, he was at Mavik Capital Management in New York City, where he focused on acquisitions, asset management, and market research. He further developed his expertise in financial analysis and the development process while earning his graduate degree.

Mr. Achi graduated from Virginia Tech with a Bachelor of Science in Finance and holds a Master of Science in Real Estate Development from Columbia University.

Meghan Wassel previously held administrative roles prior to joining Nahla Capital. Most recently at HFZ Capital Group, where her role ranged from Administrative to Executive assistance.

Mrs. Wassel graduated from West Virginia University with a Bachelor of Fine Arts.

John Lennon brings decades of extensive construction and development expertise to his advisory role at Nahla Capital. Previously serving as Director of Construction, he now provides strategic guidance on project execution, risk management, and construction operations.

Prior to joining Nahla Capital, Mr. Lennon led New York City projects for a major tristate general contractor, managing the delivery of complex mixed-use developments. He also held a senior leadership position at a Long Island-based development and construction management firm, where he was responsible for company operations, project management, preconstruction estimating, and scheduling.

Mr. Lennon holds a Bachelor of Science in Construction Management from Iona College and an Associate Degree in Civil Technology from Westchester Community College. His broad experience spans high-end retail, residential condominiums, affordable housing, hotels, office buildings, hospital facilities, and major renovation projects.

Marc Weidner joined Franklin Templeton in early 2002 and is a member of the Global Investment Committee of Franklin Real Asset Advisors. In addition, he is a member of its Management Committee and in this capacity serves as Head of Investments.

Prior to joining Franklin Templeton, Mr. Weidner worked in the investment banking group of DLJ/Credit Suisse in London and New York where he originated and structured real estate private equity funds in Europe and the United States. Prior to joining DLJ/Credit Suisse, he was with Security Capital Group in London where he worked on various transactions and business development initiatives.

Mr. Weidner holds an MBA from Cornell University where he was a Fulbright scholar. He holds a Master’s Degree in Political Science and International Relations, magna cum laude, and a BA in Business Management, magna cum laude, from Louvain-la-Neuve, Belgium. Mr. Weidner is a member of PREA and INREV, and is a faculty member in the MSc in Real Estate Development program at Columbia University.
